Welcome!
Make yourself at home :)
Giordana (pronounced “Jor-dah-nuh”) Simurdiak is a NYC-based actress and singer originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. Despite being a huge introvert, she braved her first acting class at 11, cried when the teacher asked her to make a noise, but continued to show up to class week after week, embracing a great love of performing.
She is passionate about fostering new works in addition to exploring older shows and why they continue to revive and relate to contemporary society. She views art as a unifying force, and strives to build community in all her creative endeavors. While she does not dare to proclaim herself a dancer (although Tap is certainly an exception), Giordana loves to move and incorporate movement into her artistic process. Outside of performing, she enjoys fawning over dogs on the street and a variety of crafts, including crochet, quilting, sewing, costume design, upcycling, and drawing.

Walls and Windows
Presented by Brooklyn Tavern Theater
Directed by Jerome Harmann-Hardeman
Book and Music by Dan Furman
Lyrics by Dan Furman and Kristin Maloney
“Walls and Windows is a musical theater exploration of the lives and art of Edward and Jo Hopper. Edward Hopper is the enigmatic artist who painted "Nighthawks," which has been referenced in TV shows, movies and has become a cultural meme of urban isolation.
What is it about Hopper's work that continues to provoke a response in us nearly a century later? How was Jo's art affected by her marriage and partnership with Ed for the next 40-odd years? Jo's beloved cat, Arthur; Ralph Waldo Emerson, artist Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney and two gangsters from a story by Ernest Hemingway join Ed and Jo to explore these questions. The presentation at Brooklyn Art Haus will include Punch and Judy puppetry and large-screen projections of the Hoppers' paintings.”
